DEAR SUN SPOTS: I was wondering if there is anyone in the area who takes hand-knitted items on consignment. Thank you. — maxine@roadrunner.com

ANSWER: Sun Spots has one consignment store in her Rolodex — Maine Vintage & Consignment at 18 Main St., Lisbon Falls, www.mainevintageconsignment.com, 353-2216. She does not know what they accept.

With craft season in full swing, you might also consider renting a table at a fair. And many crafters use etsy.com to sell their items.

Perhaps crafty readers will have additional suggestions.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Using your ever many amazing powers of assistance, I was hoping you could list some upcoming crafts fairs in the Mechanic Falls, Minot, and Auburn areas as well as their contact person. Thank you, O Great One! — Stacia Cordwell, berrysimpleOxford@gmail.com

ANSWER: “O Great One” is a bit of an exaggeration, especially when Sun Spots so often relies on readers for answers, as in this case. For you, and the following writer, she has provided what information she has been sent so far.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Do you know where I could find list of a few craft fairs in the Lewiston-Auburn area? I am new to crafting and wish to try my hand at craft fairs during the holiday season. (It will make winter seem not so long, too). Thank you. — B Lafrance, BHL112468@aol.com

ANSWER: Sun Spots does not know of any one place where all craft fairs are listed. The Sun Journal publishes those submitted to the newspaper in Connections or Check It Out, which are usually on Page B3. Another media source is the Community Calendar (under Events) at MPBN.net.

There are several websites for crafters, including www.mainecrafts.org, www.craftsinmaine.com,www.mainecraftsguild.com and www.unitedmainecraftsmen.com.

Sun Spots only publishes information about craft shows when organizers are looking for donations or renting tables.
