JAY — Police around the state will collect unwanted and expired prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.

Police are working in conjunction with Maine Drug Enforcement Agency to help the public prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous expired, unwanted and unused drugs.

In Jay, the collection is at Hannaford at Jay Plaza.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department will collect drugs at its office on County Way in Farmington.

Carrabassett Valley Police Department will collect at its police station.
