A lease with the Twin Cities airport’s new fixed-base operation may be signed by Wednesday if the company accepts the latest proposal from the airport’s board of directors. The board earlier this month chose Northeast Air, a base operator at the Portland International Jetport, to take over at the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport. While Northeast Air originally wanted a 50-year lease for providing the facility with basic operations such as maintenance, fuel, flight lessons and charter services, that was reduced during five negotiating sessions to a 20-year lease with an option for 20 additional years.
