Lisbon 2, Dirigo 0

LISBON — Brady Fenderson’s unassisted goal with 31 minutes remaining in the second half broke a scoreless tie to help lift Lisbon to a 2-0 blanking of Dirigo in boys MVC soccer.

Despite being outshot by the Cougars (6-4) 12-8, Lisbon was able to push across a pair of second half goals. Senior Mitch Austin scored the second Greyhound (3-6-1) goal with about 15 minutes left off an assist by Taylor Bard to seal the victory.

Nate Bergeron stopped all 10 shots he faced for the shutout. Mike Chow had four saves in the loss.

Monmouth 8, Telstar 1

BETHEL — Seniors Devin West and Kyle Fletcher each registered four goals apiece as Monmouth routed Telstar 8-1 in boys soccer action.

West got the Mustangs on the board about eight minutes into the game with the first of his four first half goals.  After a Fletcher goal, West put Monmouth up 3-0 before Telstar’s Nick Conrad got the Rebels on the board. Fletcher and West each scored two more goals for a 7-1 halftime lead.

Fletcher would score the lone second half score five minutes into the half. Kasey Smith stopped nine shots in net for Monmouth (2-5-3) while splitting time with Nick Menice who turned away a pair. Dylan Helms recorded 16 saves in the loss for Telstar (1-9-1).

Lawrence 8, Oxford Hills 2

PARIS — Matt Saunders erupted for five goals including four in the first half as Lawrence upended Oxford Hills 8-2 in KVAC boys’ soccer.

Drew Bois quickly put Lawrence on the board followed by Saunders four first half goals. Luke Davidson scored the Vikings lone first half goal to end the half. Saunders, Jordan Duffy, and Bois finished up the scoring for the Bulldogs (3-4-3). Tyrus Ripley pushed across a second half goal for Oxford Hills (2-8).

Lawrence keeper Brad King stopped 10 shots while Jake Beauchesne had 15 saves in the defeat.

Mt. Abram 6, Oak Hill 0

WALES — Senior midfielder Jarrod Clukey and sophomore forward Trevor Brackley scored a pair of goals each as Mt. Abram sped off with a 6-0 victory over Oak Hill in MVC boys’ soccer action Friday.

The Roadrunners (6-4) improved on a 2-0 halftime lead with four goals in the second frame.

Goalie Cody Rolston made 14 saves for Oak Hill, while goalies Tristen Dyer and Greg Siekman combined for eight saves in the winning effort.

Lewiston 9, Cony 0

AUGUSTA — Yusuf Yama and Abdi Shariff-Hassan scored two goals apiece as Lewiston streaked to a 9-0 shutout over Cony in KVAC boys’ soccer action Friday.

The Blue Devils (8-0-1) sprinkled a pair of goals in the middle of an eight goal first half.

The Rams (3-5-1) sweeper, Luke Dang, prevented several Lewiston breakaways to limit the barrage of scoring.

Goalie Brandon Elwell made 19 saves for Cony, while Eric Soucy, Shuab Naji and Austin Wing turned away a combined four shots for Lewiston in the winning effort.
