BRUNSWICK — Police in Brunswick are searching for an Auburn man wanted in connection with an overnight stabbing.

Jamie Mondragon, 31, of Auburn is considered armed and dangerous by the Brunswick Police Department. According to a news release issued by the department, Mondragon is the prime suspect in a stabbing reported at 2 a.m. Sunday on Perryman Drive in Brunswick.

The victim is a 25-year-old woman who was taken to Maine Medical Center with multiple stab wounds considered to be non-life-threatening. She was listed in stable condition as of early Sunday morning.

Three small children were present inside the apartment at the time of the stabbing. Police report Mondragon fled the scene prior to the arrival of police. He is believed to be driving a dark gray, 2001 Lexus ES300 with Maine license plate 6276RP.

A dispatcher with the Brunswick Police Department said Sunday afternoon that the case remained under investigation and that Mondragon is still at large. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective William Moir at 725-6623, ext. 167.
