ROCKLAND (AP) — A Maine man accused of shooting a man multiple times, killing him, is scheduled for a court appearance.

Andrew Kierstead of Tenants Harbor has been charged with murder in the death of 48-year-old Richard Mills on Thursday. Mills was found in his driveway in Cushing.

Kierstead is scheduled for an appearance in Rockland District Court at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

He was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center for evaluation and was transferred to the Knox County Jail over the weekend. Police have said the 40-year-old Kierstead was suffering from an undisclosed medical problem.

Police said the two men knew each other, but have not said what may have led to the shooting.
