AUBURN — The New England School of Metalwork will host a car show on Saturday, Oct. 6, to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Maine Chapter. The 7th annual Charity Car Show will take place in the Maine Oxy parking lot at 7 Albiston Way from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Car enthusiasts and members of the general public are welcome to attend for free. Car registration is $10 per vehicle and there are 17 classes to choose from to enter a vehicle, depending on make, model and year. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the show opens at 8 a.m.

All visitors are also welcome to participate in the 50/50 raffle and live auction. All proceeds and direct donations will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Maine Chapter, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Employees from Maine Oxy’s Auburn location and the New England School of Metalwork selected the Make-A-Wish Foundation to benefit from this year’s event. Every other year, the Maine Oxy team selects a new charity to support. Funding for the Make-A-Wish Foundation will help the organization reach its annual goal to grant wishes to more than 75 seriously ill Maine children.

Also occurring during the car show is a special in-store discount related to the Maine Oxy Supports the Troops program, which sends care packages to troops overseas. Those who bring contributions valuing $10 or more to be donated to the troops will receive a 10 percent discount on the day of the car show. The discount can be used on purchases in the Auburn store, excluding sale items.
