DEAR SUN SPOTS: We are a local bass club in need of a meeting place. We have 25 members and would be meeting once a month for two hours from 7 to 9 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month.

We are looking for the Lewiston-Auburn region or surrounding towns for our meeting place. We are a quiet group during our meetings.

If anyone is willing to provide such a meeting place for a group of anglers who do a lot with kids and charities, please contact me at 897-2772 or bassinray@hotmail.com. We would be willing to pay a reasonable price, if need be. Thank you in advance. — Ray Boies, Bronzeback Mainiacs

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Again the L&A Veterans Council thanks you for all the notices to help people keep up with news about the Veterans Park.

Monument 24 is completed but will not be installed until Memorial Day 2013. Also, at that time there will be another bench.

Hopefully I will receive enough applications for names to fill the second stone, which would complete the current circle.

After this circle, Phase II will likely be implemented.

There are still many applications that haven’t been returned. Please forward them ASAP. Call me at 784-1206 or Joe Paradis for applications.

Thank you again, Sun Spots and the Sun Journal. — Maurice Dutil, vice chairman, L&A Veterans Council

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Your readers have helped us several times in the past, and we seek their assistance again.

Ricker Library’s potluck supper program “Person to Person” is planning a program, “Potholes and Personalities,” about Poland’s Highway Department over the years, including the men and equipment and animals on our roads.

If any of your readers have pictures or stories they would share — snowstorms, mud season, hurricanes, ice storms, roads, equipment, town crew members, etc., please post them on the Facebook page, Poland Days Gone By, email raikman@megalink.net, call Rose Aikman at 966-2789 or Bud Jordan at 998-2583, or mail them to me. Thank you. — Barbara Strout, 98 Strout Road, Poland, ME 04274

ANSWER: Becky also submitted information about a rummage sale that she wanted publicized. However, Sun Spots no longer makes those announcements. If you have an event you want to invite people to, send the details to communitynews@sunjournal.com for consideration in the Connections section and the Check It Out calendar, which are usually on Page B3.

Sun Spots will only list events if they are for a nonprofit and the organizers are looking for something, such as donations of items, or are renting tables.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Bridges Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides services for folks with disabilities. We have just lost our home and are moving to another but are in need of a decent-sized working refrigerator. If anyone would like to donate or sell one for a reasonably low cost, that would be fantastic! Thanks. — Gregg Alexis, gregg@thebridgesfoundation.org
