AUBURN — Maryann Martin, 71, of Poland passed away peacefully on Oct. 4, at the hospice house surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Poland, Jan. 24, 1941, the daughter of Dorothy and Gilbert M. York. She attended Poland schools and graduated from Oxford Hills High School. She worked at many local places in the Poland community, retiring from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department in 1997 after 16 years of service.

Her hobbies included sewing, crafts, tending her flowers, shopping, country music, dancing and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Poland Community Church and the Norway Paris Fish and Game. She loved her dog, Taffy.

She is survived by her husband, Francis Martin; her daughter, Elizabeth Allen and her husband, Kenneth, of Winthrop; her son, Bernard R. Page of South Paris; grandchildren, Jennifer Verrill Fogg of Lewiston, Elaine Schmidt-Voigt and her husband, Eric, of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; along with four great-grandchildren, and one more due to arrive in March; her siblings, Charlotte Landers and her companion, Nolan Lambardo, of Oxford, Harriet Stretton and her husband, Bill, of Lewiston, Everett York and his companion, Anastasia Francis, of Poland and Lawrence York and his wife, Jean, of Pittston; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Barbara Jordan of Poland.

She was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Gilbert York; brothers, Clarence and Charles York; a sister, Marion Smith; and her first husband, Bernard Page.
