LISBON — The new owners of Luiggi’s in Lewiston are now the new owners of the former Graziano’s, or, as they’re considering calling it, Luiggi’s II.

Earl St. Hilaire said he, his wife, Angie, brother Dennis St. Hilaire and his wife, Kelly, and sister LuAnn Frenette and her husband, Marc, bought the building in early September.

“Our plans are to bring it back as a restaurant,” Earl St. Hilaire said Tuesday.

The same three couples bought Luiggi’s Pizzeria in late August. Graziano’s Casa Mia, a boxing-theme Italian restaurant, closed in March after a 43-year run.

The new owners will bring in the Luiggi’s menu.

“It’s been working well for 60 years,” St. Hilaire said.

The restaurant’s prominent spot downtown on Route 196 was appealing, he said, and there aren’t a lot of local eating choices left.

The building needs updates. St. Hilaire said they’ll bring in a designer to decide how best to use the space for both eating and a small tavern.

As word has gotten out around town. “They’re pretty excited about getting something back there,” he said.

The owners would like to open in a year.
