COLTS NECK, N.J. — Ruth E. Searls, 94, of Colts Neck, passed away peacefully on Oct. 8, at Brandywine Senior Living.

She was born April 5, 1918, in Jersey City and resided in Lincroft, Asbury Park and Matawan. Ruth was a homemaker, communicant of St. Josephs RCC, Keyport, member of the Matawan Democratic Club, an avid card player and Bocce player, but most of all loved her bus trips to Atlantic City.

Ruth is survived by her loving children, Thomas Jay Searls and his wife, Irene, of Auburn, Janet Iveson and her husband, Michael Sr., of Buckfield, Paul Searls and his wife, Phyllis, of Ledgewood, N.J., and Lauren Reardon of Middletown; adoring grandchildren, Michael Iveson Jr., Jack Iveson, Melissa Iveson Wolf, Robert Reardon, Jaime Reardon, Tyler Malley, Shannon Rooney, Heather Vieira and Kim Mesiti; along with four great-grandchildren, Frankie Iveson, Miles Iveson, Miranda Vieira and Katerina Vieira.

Ruth was predeceased by her parents, James and Katherine (O’Neill) Donnelly; her beloved husband, Thomas in 1972; and a cherished daughter, Christine in 1953.

Ruth will be dearly missed, but never forgotten by all who knew her.
