2-8 p.m.: Packet pickup at Simard/Payne Memorial Park (formerly Railroad Park), 46 Beech St., Lewiston.

2-6 p.m.: Public open house at the new location of the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing, 29 Lowell St, Lewiston.

5-8 p.m.: Inaugural Dempsey Challenge Community Celebration with (art)walk, dining, dancing, exploring downtown Lewiston-Auburn. Free shuttles from Simard/Payne Park to downtown Lisbon Street and back from 4:30 to 9 p.m. (After-party at Gritty McDuff’s, Dempsey Challenge Courage Ale on tap and live music by the Jason Spooner Trio, 8 p.m. to midnight.)

Saturday, Oct. 13

6-7:45 a.m.: Dempsey Challenge run/walk packet pickup at Simard/Payne Park.

7 a.m.: Opening ceremony, led by Patrick Dempsey, at the park.

8 a.m.: Electricity Maine 5K Run/Walk.

8:20 a.m.: Electricity Maine 10K Run/Walk.

8:20 a.m.-1 p.m.: Hannaford 5K and10K Cafe (for participants only) and Gritty McDuff’s Finish Line Beer Garden (open to public).

8 a.m.-2 p.m.: Festival in the Park: free and open to the public. Concentra Health and Wellness Expo, TD Bank Positive Tracks Kid Zone, Dempsey Center Spirit of Hope Tent, massage and Reiki tent, free bike inspections by Eastern Mountain Sports (Saturday only), vendor fair, concessions, live music and demonstrations.

9 a.m.-2 p.m.: Cyclist packet pickup at Simard/Payne Park.

10 a.m.: Amgen Breakaway from Cancer Survivor Walk to loop inside the park.

10:30 a.m.: “Thank-you” from Patrick Dempsey.

11 a.m.: Auburn Firefighters Local 797 Positive Tracks Kids’ Fun Run.

Sunday, Oct. 14

6-7:15 a.m.: Cyclist packet pickup at Simard/Payne Park.

6:45 a.m.: Opening ceremony.

7:30 a.m.: Cyclists released in waves, in order: 100 miles, 70 miles, 50 miles, 25 miles, 10 miles.

8 a.m.-5 p.m.: Festival in the Park, free and open to the public. Concentra Health and Wellness Expo, TD Bank Positive Tracks Kid Zone, Dempsey Center Spirit of Hope Tent, massage and Reiki tent, free muck-off bike washing station (Sunday only), vendor fair, concessions, live music and demonstrations.

9:30 a.m.: Last riders go off; Lobster Trap (participants only) and Gritty McDuff’s Finish Line Beer Garden (open to the public).

Noon-3:30 p.m.: Performance by the Oncotones.

3:30 p.m.: Closing ceremony led by Patrick Dempsey.
