LIVERMORE FALLS — The Tri-Town Area Seniors met Oct. 1 at Murray Hall with 19 members present. President Fernande Doiron opened the meeting with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for the men and women serving in our armed forces.

George Doiron led the group in singing “Autumn Leaves” to celebrate the season. Marguerite Richardson is on the sick list and all are asked to remember her in their prayers.

Fern then gave the secretary’s report which was accepted as read. Due to the absence of the treasurer the monthly report will be given at the next meeting. George then sang “Happy Birthday” to all celebrating their birthdays in October.

The group will meet Monday, Oct. 15, for a Chinese auction.

On Monday, Oct. 29, a Halloween meal will be held at noon with finger rolls and the fixings available. Pat Laverdiere will be checking with everyone what they will be donating for the luncheon. Everyone is encouraged to share in making a salad or a dish with a partner or partners to save on cost as well as not having too much food. Louise Parker will bring her karaoke machine for entertainment and Laure Johnson from SeniorsPlus will come to observe what the group does so she can help recruit more members. The members were also encouraged to dress up to celebrate.

The 50/50 was won by George Doiron. Door prizes donated by Alice DeMoras and Fernande Doiron were won by Gail Laverdiere and Carmen Moreau.

Following the meeting a birthday cake donated by Humana Insurance and ice cream brought in by Marielle Labbe, Janet Wright and Geraldine Richard was enjoyed by all.
