MEXICO — Anthony “Tony” Fergola, 87, of Mexico, passed away on Monday, Oct. 22, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Rumford, March 7, 1925, a son of Frank A. and Angeline

(Dalessio) Fergola. Tony attended schools in Mexico.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Isabelle (Gallant) Fergola on Sept. 27, 1952, and together they celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Tony was employed for 40 years with Oxford Paper Co. He was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior.

He loved golfing, walking, watching the Boston Red Sox and Notre Dame football, attending family gatherings, playing cribbage, being outdoors and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Surviving are his children, David Fergola and wife, Maureen, of Rumford, Lisa Wallace and husband, John, of Rumford, Donna Farrell and husband, Michael, of Scarborough, Mary Ellen Tucker and husband, Donny, of Mexico and Robert Fergola and wife, Michelle, of Mexico; 11 grandchildren, Aaron Fergola, Craig Fergola, Brady Fergola, Chad Wallace, Lindsey Wallace, Corey Farrell and wife, Stephanie, Casey Pearson and husband, Adam, Katie Tucker, Keri Tucker, Zac Fergola and Travis Fergola; six great-grandchildren, Keenan and Aubrey Farrell, Poppy Pearson, Kiara and Latavian Bushman and Eli Pike; many nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Betty Fergola of Kansas; and a brother-in-law, Robert McFadden of Florida.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Isabelle; three brothers, Albert, Frank and Victor Fergola; and four sisters, Josephine Henry, Gloria McFadden, Vera Lane and Caroline Gaudet.
