SCARBOROUGH (AP) — Republican Senate candidate Charlie Summers’ campaign says it’s raised more than $325,000 during the federal reporting period from Oct. 1 through Oct. 17.
Campaign manager Lance Dutson says the more Mainers get to know about Summers, the more they like him. The new fundraising report to be filed by Thursday brings his total to $1.1 million.
Former Gov. Angus King, an independent, continues to lead in fundraising, bringing in a total of $2 million. That doesn’t include a fundraiser for King at the home of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg during the Federal Election Commission’s latest reporting period.
The candidates’ efforts are being overshadowed by outside spending, which has been dominating the race since the Chamber of Commerce began running ads in July.
