SCARBOROUGH — Roland G. Morissette, 76, of Rosewood Circle, Biddeford, passed away on Oct. 28, in Scarborough.

He was born in Lewiston, May 19, 1936, a son of the late Ernest J. and Yvonne (Champagne) Morissette.

After graduating from Biddeford High School, Roland went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Navy. Later, he attended the University of Gainesville.

Roland began working at United Auto Parts and went on to work as a classified ad salesman with the Biddeford — Saco Journal, now the Journal Tribune.

After working in real estate for a short period, Roland purchased the Arthur Foran Moving Co., which eventually was named the Morissette Moving Company. With the help of his sons, he was able to successfully operate this business for years until his retirement.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR events, and most importantly, doing activities with his family, especially with his great-granddaughter.

Roland was also an active member of the Biddeford/Saco Lions Club.

Roland is survived by his beloved wife, Mary (Horsfield) Morissette; sons, R. Michael Morissette and his wife, Anna and David B. Morissette and his wife, Reina; daughter, Jacklyn Brunet and her husband, Gregory; brothers, Ernest and Robert Morissette; sisters, Rose Marie Miller and Ann Marie Johnson; grandchildren, Matthew Morissette and his wife Amy and Sean Morissette; great-granddaughter, Riley Morissette, who is Matthew and Amy’s daughter; and many nieces and nephews.
