RUMFORD — Selectmen will be asked to approve a loader bid for Public Works at Thursday night’s board meeting in Rumford Falls Auditorium.

They will also appoint a deputy warden for the Nov. 6 election and discuss drafting ordinance proposals.

Additionally, Kevin Saisi of the Comprehensive Planning Committee will update the board on its progress.

He said Tuesday via social media site Facebook that the committee is approaching the one-year mark in drafting a revision of Rumford’s Comprehensive Plan.

John Maloney of the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments has provided Saisi with a summary of his work for the committee.

“Also, I have asked the board to extend the appointments of the committee to permit us to finish the work,” Saisi said. “Unfortunately, we have had to cancel a few meetings, which has put us behind schedule.”

The committee is considering rescheduling the November meeting, and perhaps canceling the December meeting, he said.

“The plan needs to be completed in time for the June election for approval by the voters,” Saisi said.

Approvals are also being sought Thursday to hold a bid process workshop, and for liquor license applications and special amusement permits for Black Mountain of Maine, the Eagles and American Legion.
