Rep. Paul Gilbert of Jay is an honest, hard-working person who is dedicated to protecting the environment and the well-being of working families.

Many small businesses depend upon tourists who flock to Maine to enjoy the rivers, lakes and forests and the creatures who abide in them. Gilbert understands the importance of maintaining those crucial resources.

He is also a strong advocate for the elderly and the disadvantaged.

Special interest groups are pouring money into Maine to get their way. Their interests usually do not coincide with what is best for the rest of us. Gilbert has never taken special interest money, which makes it more difficult to get elected, but results in him being free to be a strong, effective voice for Maine people.

Area residents are fortunate to have Paul Gilbert in the Legislature. He should be sent back to Augusta to work on our behalf.
