AUBURN — As part of National Novel Writing Month in November, the Auburn Public Library has two special programs to get the creative juices going.
There will be a program at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, on “Haiku: Rhythm for Novelists and Musicians” and at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, on “Writing for the Social Activist.”
“Haiku: Rhythm for Novelists and Musicians” will be run by multi-published author Leonard Oprea. Oprea, who has written whole novels in haiku format, will teach how to write the forgotten style of haiku.
“Writing for the Social Activist” will also be led by Oprea, as he discusses how literature can be the best weapon for social activists.
Both programs will take place in the Grand Reading Room.
Every Saturday, the Auburn Library has reserved a study room on the second floor for writing and/or gathering with fellow writers. Drop in anytime on a Saturday in November. For more on National Novel Writing Month, visit www.nanowrimo.org.
