AUBURN — George S. Yeaton Jr., 70, a resident of Summer Street, Lewiston, died Monday, Oct. 29, following a short illness, at the Hospice House, with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Auburn, Oct. 27, 1942, the son of George S. and Leona (Hadley) Yeaton Sr. George was in the Army and had worked most of his life as a commercial trucker, after which he had been employed at Dingley Press, until his retirement.

He was an avid outdoorsman who truly loved the outdoors. He was also proud to be a member of the Knights of Columbus and was also a Fourth Degree member.

Survivors include three sons, George Yeaton III of Auburn, Clarence Yeaton of Lewiston and Harold Yeaton and wife, Eileen, of Auburn; five daughters, Stanlene McKinney and husband, Kevin, of Richmond, Mary Jane Partee of Lewiston, Debbie Ridlon of Lewiston, Louise Salley and husband, Sam, of Norway and Peggy May of Lewiston; two brothers, Willis Grover and wife, Nancy, of Augusta and Elwood Yeaton and wife, Barbara, of West Paris; one sister, Joline Martin and husband, Richard, of Minot; 29 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, George was predeceased by one sister, Josephine Wills; three brothers, Clarence and Elmond Seavey and Earl Grover; and one grandson, Tyler Yeaton.
