FARMINGTON — She was due before Christmas but little Arianna Alizabeth Harmon held off her debut till New Year’s Day.

Harmon is the first baby of 2013 born at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Arriving at 7:17 a.m. Tuesday, she was 20 inches long and weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces. She will receive a wagon full of gifts donated by area merchants and others.

Her parents, Courtney and Andrew Harmon of Dixfield, arrived at the hospital five minutes before the new year started, Courtney Harmon said Wednesday.

The couple knew they were expecting a girl but didn’t realize it was the first birth at FMH until after it was over, she said. Arianna was expected Dec. 21.

“We’re very excited. It’s our first girl,” Andrew Harmon said. She joins brothers, Andrew Allen Harmon II, 3, and Aedin Alexander Harmon, 2.

Brother Andrew was due on St. Patrick’s Day but arrived early for a Valentine’s Day birth date, making holidays special for the family, Courtney said.
