FARMINGTON — Police at the University of Maine at Farmington are investigating who spray painted the elevator of Dakin Hall.
A peace sign about 3-feet in diameter was created with black spray paint, UMF Police Chief Ted Blais said. The incident was reported at about 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The painting also included some words that police couldn’t make out, he said.
There are about 50 students staying in the dorm for winter term but entrance to the dorm is by key card, Blais said.
The paint has been removed, he said.
Police will continue their investigation and talk with the residents to see who was around the dorm on New Year’s Day.
