FARMINGTON — Robert J.”Bob” Duguay, 90, of Wilton, died the afternoon of Christmas, Dec. 25, on his birthday at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

He was born Christmas Day, 1922, in Rumford, a son of John Peter and Angelina Arsenault Duguay, and graduated from Stephens High School in 1941.

In February 1941, he left Rumford with Co. B 103rd Infantry Maine National Guard and went to the Pacific Theatre on Oct. 1, 1942, serving in Guadacanal, Russell Islands, New George, New Guinea, Morotoi, and Mindingo Island in the Phillipines, where he was wounded and awarded the Bronze Star and Five Battle Stars as well as four amphibious landings. After the war, he worked as a purchasing agent for GH Bass in Wilton.

He was a life member of the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335, a 32 degree Mason, and a member of Wilton Masonic Lodge 156 AF and AM of Wilton. He was a former member of the Kora Temple Shrine, Wilson Lake Country Club, and Brentwood Farms CC in Beverly Hills, Fla. He had made his winter home in Florida, and summered in Maine since 1988.

He is survived by his son, Edmund and his wife, Darcey, of North Anson; a stepson, Thomas Chapman, with whom he made his home of Wilton; two grandchildren, Eddie Duguay and Nicole Rodgers and her husband, Jeff, all of North Anson; and one nephew, Ronald Hart of Falmouth.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Hazel; two brothers, Edmond and Wilfred; and three sisters, Etta Hart, Hazel Michaud and Dorothy Metevier.
