LEWISTON — William R. Gardiner, 63, of Sabattus, died suddenly Wednesday, Jan. 2, after a short illness at Central Maine Medical Center. He was the husband of Pamela (Foster) Gardiner.

He was born in Lisbon Falls, July 3, 1949, a son of the late John Gardiner and Marion (Allen) Gardiner. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1967, and joined the U.S. Army, serving for three years during the Vietnam War. He also joined the Coast Guard and served six and a half years.

On Jan. 25, 1985, he married Pamela Foster.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his son, Justin of Jay; daughters, Robyn and her companion, Travis and Kimmy and her companion, Myrond, all of Bucksport; his grandchildren, Ashley and her husband, Chris, “Punk” Devin, Amber, Zac, Joe and Brianna and his little “Strawberry Bandito” and great-granddaughter, Cadence, all of Bucksport; as well as his favorite aunt, Helen of Mapleton; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws; he also leaves his faithful dog, Kenai, who just doesn’t understand where Daddy went.
