LePage canceled a meeting with Democratic leaders on Dec. 4 after asking the Democratic Party to call off a cameraman who has been recording him at public events.

House Speaker Mark Eves and Senate President Justin Alfond said Tuesday that there was no breakthrough over the December break and that they’re still seeking a face-to-face meeting with the governor.

For now, the snub isn’t impeding the Legislature’s work, but Alfond said constituents keep asking him about it. He said Maine people expect more from their leaders.

There was no immediate word from the governor.
