LEWISTON — Reynold E. Wilber, 89, a resident of Sabattus Road, Lewiston, died Thursday, Jan. 10, at Central Maine Medical Center following a period of declining health with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Kingfield, May 17, 1923, the son of Percy and Evelyn (Taylor) Wilber.

Following high school, Reynold served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, then he completed his education at the former Bliss College in Lewiston and Bentley College in Boston, receiving an accounting degree.

He was married to the former Ruth Strickland in 1946, and raised their family together until her early passing in 1978.

Mr. Wilber was a company accountant for the Pepperell Mill in Lewiston and with Ellis Paper Board Products in Scarborough until his retirement in 1990. During his career, he was a member of the Southern Maine Accounting Association.

He enjoyed bowling, camping, and was an avid Boston sports fan, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include one son, Ronald Wilber and wife, Anna, of Skowhegan and their children, Robert, Michael and Kathleen; two daughters, Risa Nicholos of Rochester, N.H., and her daughter, Katherine, and Rebecca Wilber of Lewiston and her daughter, Alyson; one brother, Clayton Wilber and wife, Hilma, of Kingfield; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife Ruth, he was predeceased by one sister, Donna Clark in 2010.
