LIVERMORE — William and Susan Biliouris of Livermore are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Elisabeth Biliouris, to Dr. Henry Wu, son of Dr. Po On and Man Chiu Wu.
Ms. Biliouris graduated from Livermore Falls High School. She continued her education at Bates College, receiving a bachelor’s degree in biological psychology with distinction. After attending Bates, she then went on to higher education and early work experience at Harvard. She is currently attending graduate school at the University of Strasbourg, France, and the University of Freiburg, Germany, where she will receive a joint master’s degree in neuroscience.
Dr. Wu graduated from the Ackworth School in West Yorkshire, England. He attended Oxford, where he received a bachelor’s degree in biology with distinction. He was recruited to a doctorate program at King’s College, London, where he received his doctorate in immunology. As an immunologist, he ventured to Boston, where he began his medical research career, becoming a junior faculty at Harvard Medical School. He currently works as head of a research group.
The couple currently resides in Basel, Switzerland, and they are planning an August 2013 wedding in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the Moana Surfrider Resort.
