WINSLOW — Senior center captain Kayla McClellan netted a pair of goals to lift St. Dom’s to a 4-2 victory over Winslow in girls’ ice hockey action Saturday.

Tia Rotalicco pitched in with a goal and an assist for the Saints (4-8).

Jennifer Poulin cut the Saints’ lead to one in the third period with a timely goal for the Black Raiders. But McClellan added an insurance tally down the stretch.

Goalie Jessica Cain made 18 saves for Winslow, while goalie Taylor Fillebrown earned the win in net with 20 saves for St. Dom’s.

Boys’ hockey

St. Dom’s 8, Poland-G-NG 0

LEWISTON — Sophomore Cam Stewart scored a pair of goals as St. Dom’s cruised to an 8-0 shutout over Poland Gray-New Gloucester in boys’ ice hockey action Saturday.

The Saints (3-3-1) scored two short-handed goals in the second period for a 3-0 lead after two. Will Desmarais and Caleb Labrie posted a goal and three assists each for St. Dom’s.

Goalie Calvin Shelley defended 35 shots for the Patriotic Knights (2-6-1), while relief goalie Nick Hemond prevented four before the final buzzer for Poland New-Gloucester.

Goalie Austin Christopher earned the shutout victory in net for St. Dom’s with seven saves.

EL 2, Cony 2, OT

HALLOWELL — Branden Dyer netted the equalizer on the power play at 5:13 of the second period and Zach Gosselin stopped 30 of the 31 shots he saw to help Edward Little to a 2-2 tie with Cony in Class A boys’ high school hockey action Saturday.

Zach Grant put Cony on the board fist at 4:30 of the first frame with an even-strength tally with help from Tyler Leet.

Trevor Haley and Brendon Pelletier assisted on Dyer’s equalizer for the Red Eddies (2-4-2). Tommy Small stopped 25 of 26 for the Rams (4-2-1).

Boys’ basketball

Madison 64, Lisbon 50

MADISON — Austin Kane threw in 20 points to help Madison (4-6) produce a 64-50 victory over Lisbon (2-8) in a boys’ basketball game Saturday.

Despite the Bulldogs’ dominance on the court, Tucker Brannon scored 27 points, went 13-for-13 at the free-throw line and knocked down four 3-pointers for the Greyhounds.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 37-24 lead at halftime.

Mt. Abram 49, St. Dom’s 36

SALEM — Ian James dropped in 27 points to lead all scorers, pacing Mt. Abram to a 49-36 win over St. Dom’s in MVC boys’ basketball action Saturday.

The Roadrunners (5-5) started quickly, built an 11-point lead after one quarter and survived a sluggish third frame to post the win. Matt Dyer (11 points) and Nick Hatfield (nine) led the way for the Saints (3-6).

Girls’ basketball

Greenville 43, Buckfield 27

BUCKFIELD — Olivia Bouchard tossed in the game-high 14 points as Greenville (3-7) overpowered Buckfield (3-8) with a 43-27 victory in a girls’ basketball game Saturday.

Greenville easily built a 24-10 lead at halftime, and its defense held the Bucks to single-digit scoring for three quarters.

Buckfield’s Gabby Therriault scored a season-high 12 points.

OOB 60, Hebron 18

OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Anna Foss drained five field goals to lead Old Orchard Beach to a 60-18 triumph over Hebron in girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Seagulls limited Hebron to just four points in three frames and six in the second quarter for a 39-10 lead at the midpoint. Abby Dubois recorded three field goals and four free throws for 10 points for Old Orchard Beach.

Liv Brown led the Lumberjacks with four buckets and eight points.

Mt. Abram 49, St. Dom’s 38

SALEM — Senior center Annie Dexter drained seven field goals in a balanced attack as Mt. Abram ran away with a 49-38 decision over St. Dom’s in MVC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Saints (6-3) led 25-20 at the half. Sophomore forward Faith Grady compiled a game-high 21 points on nine field goals and three free throws for St. Dom’s.

The Roadrunners (5-5) were strong on the boards in the second half, adding a little spark to their scoring effort.

Miranda Smith contributed six field goals and two free throws for a shared team-high 14 points for Mt. Abram.
