LEWISTON — USM Lewiston-Auburn Senior College is presenting its Annual Winter Series for a mid-winter tonic and pick-me-up to keep its members’ minds alert and ready for spring.

Alan Elze, board chairman and curriculum chair, has released the following half- and full-day schedule of presentations offered free as a boon for current membership. Registration by mail for members is underway and is taken on a first come, first served basis.

Jan. 28, 10 a.m. to noon, Living in London during WWII, Rose Goodwin.

Jan. 29, 9 a.m. to noon, Collectors and their Treasures, June Spear.

Jan. 30, 9:30 a.m. to noon, The Many Faces of the Atom, Hugh Keene.

Jan. 31, 9 to 11 a.m., The History of Lake Auburn, a Fond Look Back, Karen Bernier.

Feb. 1, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Great Houses of America: The Biltmore, Alan Elze.

Feb. 4, 9:30 a.m. to noon, Winter Games, Carole Seward.

New members over 50 years of age are welcome. Dues are $25 annually and include access to USM LAC’s computer lab and library, mailings and to Senior College courses at other campuses. The courses have additional charges: $25 for each of the first two courses selected and $10 for each additional course. The annual membership is for the current academic year: Sept. 1, 2012, through Aug. 31, 2013.
