LEEDS — The Leeds Historical Society will hold its second Neighborhood Conversation, a series of informal gatherings to reminisce about what life was like Leeds in days gone by. This gathering will focus on West Leeds and will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Leeds Community Church, 123 Church Hill Road.

Each of Leeds’ various neighborhoods had its unique personality, and the Historical Society is hoping to hear more about them. Community members are invited to share what they remember about living in West Leeds. Where did you shop? Where did you play? Do you remember when they dammed the river and flooded many of the farms and homes in West Leeds? Maybe you remember Flora Hewins at the switchboard when you made phone calls, or why West Leeds was called Slab City.

People are encouraged to bring not only their memories but photographs and other memorabilia so they can be scanned and copies added to the Historical Society’s collection.
