JAY — Police are investigating the theft of copper pipes and power tools  from a home on Lomie Rivers Road, Detective Richard Caton IV said Tuesday.

Police officer Nicholas Gulliver responded to a report of a burglary at 2:04 p.m. Sunday. Copper pipes and fittings from plumbing and heating systems were taken, said Caton, who is investigating. It’s going to cost thousands of dollars to replace the pipes and fix the damage, he said.

The thief or thieves forced their way into the house sometime between Friday and Sunday, he said.

“We are looking at a couple of suspects,” Caton said.

Anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious is asked to call Caton at 897-6766 at the Jay Police Department.
