LEWISTON — Masses of Christian Burial were celebrated in the past couple of weeks at Holy Family Catholic Church for Fernand Lapointe and his wife, Carmen Lapointe, who passed away 6 days apart. The Rev. Aaron Damboise officiated at both Masses. Readings of scripture were done by Diane Griffith, Gary Lapointe and Amy Charest. Prayer of the faithful was done by Christine Lachance and Larry Lachance. Offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Lacey Audet, Alison Masse Casey and Kelsey Lapointe. A delegation from Ladies of Ste. Anne was present at the services for Carmen and Military Honors from The Maine Honor Guard were given for Fernand at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Songs of celebration were sung at church, “Irish Blessing,” “Be Not Afraid,” “Amazing Grace,” “On Wings of an Eagle,” “J’ irai La Voir Un Jour,” “Ave Maria” and “Let There Be Peace On Earth.” Pallbearers for both Carmen and Fernand were, Danny and Duane Dubois, Kevin Castonguay, Joshua and Ryan Audet, Jonathan Pelletier, Eric and Adam Lapointe. Committal services were held at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Receptions for both services were held at Marco’s Restaurant. Services for Carmen and Fernand were under the direction of The Fortin Funeral Home.
