One of the captains in the Lewiston Fire Department in his rush to get to the fire on the Sabattus Road the other day boarded a Figure Eight car. Just as the car stopped on Pine near Bartlett to let off a passenger, said captain noticed a Sabattus farmer driving by. The captain then looked for the car, but that also kept on going and there was nothing left for him to do but to hike to the scene of the conflagration.
