BREWER — Alexis F.L. Rioux, 88, of Glenburn, passed away Feb. 5, surround by his loving family.

Alex was born in St. Andre, New Brunswick, Canada, April 8, 1924, to Johnny and Ada (Poitras) Rioux. He proudly became a naturalized American Citizen in 1955. Alex was a loving, family man. He cultivated a large family who loved him very much. Alex retired from the Lane Construction Corporation after 28 years of service.

He was an avid gardener for most of his life and loved to share his garden with his family and friends. He was an avid bowler, a consummate cribbage player, and enjoyed many card games, including pinochle.

Alex was a devout Catholic and long-term member of the Knights of Columbus and serving on the Honor Guard, member of the Brewer Eagles Club, and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor.

Alex is survived by his wife of 19 years, Amber (Curry) Rioux of Bangor; his children, Zina Regan and her partner, Arthur Goode, of Brewer, Roger Rioux and his wife, Kris, of Cape Elizabeth, and their children, Nicole, Holly, Melanie, Silas, Zachary, Laurent Rioux and his wife, Ruth, of Edgecomb, and their children, Lauren, Peter, Christian, Dominic and Jonathan, Claude Rioux and his wife, Colleen, of Harpswell, and their children, Angela and Jack, Robert Rioux and his wife, Elissa, of Kennebunkport, and their son, Alexis and Rhonda Sprague and her husband, David, of Glenburn and their children, Matthew, Kristen, and Nicole; his son, Tommy’s children, Samantha Rioux-Sproul and Jessica (Rioux) Fraser; sister, Juliette Martin of Gardiner, Mass.; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Alex was predeceased by his loving wife of 41 years, and the mother of his children, Eva Marie Bourque; and his son, Tommy Paul Rioux.
