NORWAY — “For the Love of a Song, II” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Norway Memorial Library. This evening of music featuring 12 talented Western Maine singers  is the second show in a series that is unique because the performers choose one of their favorite songs to sing. These personal selections range from pop, country, historical and original songs.

The performers include Steve Jones, Ed Gabrielsen, Fawn Palmer, Donna Chickering, Bill Libby, Steve Sessions, Jennifer St.Pierre, Tom Ferent, Joel Pulkkinen and James Bennett. Some will perform solo and others will be accompanied by the SuperMoon Trio made up of members Dawson Hill, Kristen Short and Rusty Wiltjer. Short and Hill will also perform their favorite songs.

These accomplished performers are often seen in various musical events in their communities from church choirs to big stage musicals. Six of them were involved with the recent Oxford Hill Music and Performing Arts Association show, “The Road to Eden’s Ridge, the Musical,” written by Sally Jones in collaboration with Steve Jones (no relation) who composed the music.

Beth Kane, director of the library, said, “The library is a wonderful place to enjoy live music and what better time to celebrate the love of music than around Valentine’s Day?” The Friends of the Library will provide refreshments following the concert. This program is free and open to the public. The doors will open at 7 p.m. at the library at 258 Main St. For more information, call 207-743-5309 or email norlib@norway.lib.me.us.
