Parents from all over Maine gathered at the State House in Augusta to celebrate Head Start Goes To Augusta Day on Feb. 6. They displayed information about Head Start in the Hall of Flags and met with legislators to discuss the importance of early childhood education. They toured the State House and sat in on a work committee session. A mock hearing was held with parents playing various roles. The purpose of the day was to enlighten parents as to the workings of the State House.
