WATERVILLE — American Legion Auxiliary (ALA), Department of Maine, officers and members joined President Mary Jane McLoon for the Mid-Winter Conference at American Legion Post 5.

The event was attended by American Legion Post, Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion members from all over Maine.

The Auxiliary conference included business meetings, reports on ALA programs and guests, including Maine’s Girls State governor, Joanne Moody, and the Freeport flag ladies.

Post 5 entertained the Legion family and guests, American Legion National Vice Commander John E. Neylon of New Hampshire and Robert Turner, Sons of the American Legion lead candidate for Eastern Region National Vice Commander.

Founded in 1919, the American Legion Auxiliary is the world’s largest patriotic women’s service organization.
