AUBURN — Samira Cruz piled up 27 points, leading the University of Maine at Machias to a 54-32 victory over the College of St. Joseph’s in the USCC Women’s Elite 8 Basketball Tournament Saturday night.

For the Saints, Kelly Festa scored 12 points followed by Brooke Griswold’s eight points.

The Clippers will now face New Hampshire Technical Institute on Sunday at noon in a semifinal round game.

NHTI 90, UMM 86

AUBURN — Ahntawn Harris hit for 28 points and Terry Williams added 18 points as the New Hampshire Technical Institute sidestepped the University of Maine at Machias with 90-86 lead in a quarterfinal round of the YSCC “Elite 8” Men’s Basketball Tournament on Saturday.

Demetrius Rofuse scored 15 points and Jackson Riel had 10 for the Lynx, who will face the winner of the CSJ and Southern Maine Community College at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

For the Clippers, Elias Gutierrez scored 31 points, A.C. ford had 20, and Jorge Milo help out with 18 points.
