RANDOLPH — Maine State Police say a martial arts instructor has been accused of sexually abusing one of his students.

Fifty-three-year-old Brant Perkins of Edgecomb is an instructor at the Maine Isshimryu Karate Academy in Randolph. He was arrested Thursday night.

Police said a family friend said Perkins was having sex with a teenage girl who was one of Perkins’s students.

It wasn’t immediately known if Perkins had a lawyer.
