MEXICO — Stephens High School class of 1954 in Rumford will hold its monthly luncheon at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Dick’s Restaurant. Classmates and guests welcome.

Beekeeping presentation

MEXICO —  Western Maine Beekeepers Association will present a slideshow and talk by State Apiarist Tony Jadczak on honey bee pests, diseases and current medications. The presentation will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, in the cafeteria of Region 9 School.

Beekeepers need to be aware of current treatment methods and medications to ensure the survival of their honey bees. All area beekeepers are invited to this free presentation.

Stephens High Class of 1963

MEXICO — Stephens High School Class of 1963, friends and family will meet at noon Friday, March 22, at the Mexico Chicken Coop for the monthly luncheon. For more information call 364-8416.

Maple Sunday breakfast

PERU — The Friends of Peru Elementary School will hold a Maine Maple Sunday all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 24, at Peru Elementary School.

Breakfast includes maple syrup, bacon or sausage and beverage. The cost is $5 for adults and $2 for ages 8 and under.

There will also be an indoor yard sale with a 50/50 raffle in conjunction with Thurston Family Farm.

Proceeds will benefit the Peru Community Center.

Rumford, Meroby kindergarten

RUMFORD — Kindergarten registration for children who will be 5 years old on or before Oct. 15 will take place in April.

Parents are asked to call their neighborhood school from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. by April 8 to pre-register their child: Meroby Elementary, 364-3715; Rumford Elementary, 364-8155.

Screenings will be held at Rumford Elementary School Wednesday, April 24, and Thursday, April 25. Meroby Elementary will hold registrations Wednesday, April 24, and Thursday, April 25. Parents should allow one hour for the appointment.

Parents need to bring proof of residency, an original birth certificate from the town where the child was born and immunization information to the registration session.

Children currently in kindergarten will not attend school on the days of screening in their school.
