TOPSHAM — Jared C. Knowlton, 45, formerly of Manchester, died Friday, March 15, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Springfield, Mass., Sept. 25, 1967, a son of Roger A. and Tina (Conley) Knowlton.

Jared was a 1985 graduate of Winthrop High School and attended New England School of Broadcasting in Bangor.

He had been employed by CMC Technology Group and had previously worked at On Target and Capitol Computers in Augusta. He had also been employed by Maranacook Community High School as a soccer and lacrosse coach.

Jared enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed coaching soccer, hockey and lacrosse, shopping and dancing with Lauren and playing sports with Mike. He loved music, dancing, playing guitar and spending time at the lake boating and playing with the kids.

He is survived by his son, Michael R. Knowlton of Topsham; his daughter, Lauren E. Knowlton of Topsham; his life-long partner, Melissa (Schultze) Knowlton of Topsham; his mother, Tina (Conley) Knowlton of Northport, Fla.; his stepmother, Nancy Pratt-Knowlton of Mechanic Falls; his brother, Jeffrey R. Knowlton and his wife, Jane, of Rochester, N.H.; a niece, Jessica Knowlton; and two nephews, Justin Knowlton and Braeden Landry.

Jared was predeceased by his father, Roger A. Knowlton.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the care and compassion they showed to Jared and the family at this difficult time.
