LIVERMORE FALLS – A local man spent the weekend in an Auburn jail after he was accused of attempting to buy a handgun to take care of a domestic issue, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Monday.

Eric Crosby, 21, of Livermore Falls was arrested Friday on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence terrorizing, Steward said.

Crosby, who is being held on $1,060 cash bail, remained at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn as of noon Monday, a corrections officer said.

Jay police Detective Richard Caton IV contacted Livermore Falls police Sgt. Vernon Stevens with information he had received, Steward said. Stevens investigated and had officer Daniel Chabot arrest Crosby on Friday evening.
