LEWISTON — Solange “Sally” Blais Croteau, 93, of Webster Street, Lewiston, passed away at Marshwood Nursing Home, March 27.

She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 11, 1920, daughter of Odilon and Marie Larochelle Blais. She received her education in local schools. Sally lived on Webster Street all of her life.

On Sept. 6, 1943, she married Maurice F. Croteau, who predeceased her on March 31, 2001, after being together for 60 years. She was a member of Holy Cross church, Lewiston Senior Citizens, Horizon 55, Covenant 50 and the Red Hat Society.

She enjoyed traveling, music and dancing. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Prior to her retirement in 1977, she was employed by the Lewiston Police Department as a secretary/clerk in the Juvenile Office.

Surviving her are two sons, Ronald M. Croteau of Lewiston and his fiancée, Mary Jane Bishop, and Norman R. Croteau of Turner; one grandson, Brian R. Croteau of Poland and his wife, Caroline; two great-grandchildren, Brendon Croteau and Shelby Carter; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, Maurice, she was predeceased by four sisters, Yvette Blais, Jeannette Langlais, Muriel Lagasse Blais, all of Lewiston and Therese Murphy of Scarborough; one brother, Eddie Blais of Lewiston; and one grandson, Scott M. Croteau of Lewiston.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to all the wonderful staff at Androscoggin Home and Hospice and Marshwood Nursing Home.
