WILTON — There will be a homebuyer education class to be held from 5:30 to 8:45 p.m. Monday, April 22, at Western Maine Community Action. The three-part class will continue on April 29 and 30.
The class will be taught in a group setting by a HUD-certified housing counselor, who will explain the home-buying process, along with budgeting, understanding credit and an individual’s credit score, and the responsibilities that come with owning a home. The roles of Realtors, inspectors and other industry professionals are also discussed.
Certificates of completion, which may be required for down payment for assistance programs are valid for two years.
