DIXFIELD — The RSU 10 board Monday learned of a new superintendent search, accepted the resignation of a longtime guidance counselor and listed the graduation dates for three high schools.

The first round of superintendent applications resulted in few responses, so the position is being advertised again until May 10. The Maine School Management Association will review the applications and forward those that qualify to the Superintendent Search Committee for review from May 15-20.

The committee will decide conduct interviews from 2 to 5 p.m. May 22 and 23. A second interview, site visit, and negotiations are expected to take place May 28-31. The entire board will interview the finalist on June 3.

The board also announced that Mountain Valley High School seniors will graduate at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at Puiia Gym at the Rumford school; Dirigo High School seniors will graduate at 6 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the school gym in Dixfield; and Buckfield high school seniors will graduate at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the school.

In other matters, longtime Mountain Valley High School guidance counselor James Ippolito submitted his resignation, effective the end of this school year.

The board also approved the first reading of several revised policies covering student dress and employee computer and Internet use.
