West Parish indoor yard sale

BETHEL — An indoor yard sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at West Parish Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, basement.

Donations will be accepted Thursday and Friday, April 25 and 26.

Proceeds will benefit the Smile Fund which helps adults in the SAD 44 area who are in need of dentures but have no financial resources.

To submit an application or for more information about the Smile Fund, call Rev. Virginia Rickeman at 824-0550. All applications are confidential.

Retired Teachers meet April 26

PARIS — The Oxford County Retired Teachers Association will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 26, at Oxford Hills Technical High School, Culinary Arts Room.

Assistance with parking for members of OCRTA will happen at the southeastern area by students and signs.

Since school will be in session, retired teachers should arrive between 10 and 10:30 a.m.

Dinner will be served by the students at noon. Following the meal a program will take place about ladies along the Underground Railroad, before and during the Civil War, using quilts as coding signals to assist escaping slaves.

Potluck supper at Buckfield High

BUCKFIELD — A potluck supper will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Buckfield High School.

Cost is $5 for adults; $3 for children.

Proceeds benefit Paul Jordan who lost everything in a fire.

Lewiston Bridge Club winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on April 22 were as follows: first, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; second, Nancy Farmer and Luke Merry; third, Les Buzzell and Paul Sherman.

Winners on April 23 were: first, Sharron Hinckley and Paul Sherman; second, Connie Webster and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr; fourth, Jeanine Kivus and Luke Merry; first in B & C, Cindy & Bob Kirchherr; second in B, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer.

Congratulations to Cindy and Bob Kirchherr of South Paris for winning silver points at a New Hampshire sectional.

Games are played every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed and all bridge players are welcomed. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for more information.

Father-daughter dance May 4

WEST PARIS — The first father-daughter dance will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at West Paris Agnes Gray School.

Cost is $15 per father-daughter couple.

Music provided by TJ’s DJ Service. Desserts, soda, water and flowers will be available. Pictures will be available for $5.

All proceeds will go to the West Paris Fire Department Auxiliary.
