WALES — Catcher Brooke LeBel smacked a crucial, bases-loaded, two-run single in the third inning that helped give Oak Hill a narrow 5-4 victory over Mountain Valley in a softball game Friday.

The Raiders (4-2) used a seven-hit attack to hold off the Falcons (2-3).

Winning pitcher Kortney Michaud went 2-for-2 and drove in a run, and Alyssa Rowleau had two hits and an RBI.

For Mountain Valley, Brooke Dolloff had two hits, including a triple, and losing pitcher Lindsay Marston had two hits and an RBI.

Cony 12, Lewiston 0

LEWISTON — Sydney Cheever smacked a homer and Kasidy Turgeon tripled as undefeated Cony (7-0) overwhelmed Lewiston, 12-0, in a softball game Friday.

Cleo Miller and Michelle Malia each had a hit for the Blue Devils (1-6).

Spruce Mountain 17, Monmouth 6

MONMOUTH — Ashlie Robbins had two hits and drove in three runs as Spruce Mountain dismissed Monmouth, 17-6, in a baseball game Friday.

The Phoenix jumped out to a 13-1 lead by the third inning and had a total of 19 hits.

Loreyana Trace had two hits and scored three runs. Grace Ryan had three hits.

For Monmouth, Mikayla Cameron went 4-for 4 and drove in a run. Sabrina Beck and Daisi Poole each had two hits.

Mt. Abram 14, St. Dom’s 9

SALEM — Three Mt. Abram players provided 11 RBIs as the Roadrunners notched a 14-9 victory over St. Dom’s in MVC softball action Friday.

Kate Jordan and Taylor Jordan had three hits and three RBIs, while Jill Howard provided five RBIs to go along with her three hits for the Roadrunners (3-3).

The Saints (1-5) struggled to keep pace through the middle innings, but posted four runs in the top of the seventh. Bethany Fox had two of St. Dom’s six hits, both doubles.

Telstar 12, Boothbay 0

BETHEL — Junior pitcher Jessica Dirago tossed her second no-hitter of the season as Telstar notched a 12-0 victory over Boothbay in MVC softball action Friday.

The Rebels (6-0) scored six runs in the first inning. Dirago also provided a double in the home half of the fifth inning for a walk-off 12-run rule win.

Rachael Wheeler assisted the Telstar offense with a triple.

Allison Crocker went the distance for the Seahawks (0-5) and struck out eight batters despite the loss.

Edward Little 19, Erskine 6

SOUTH CHINA — Edward Little exploded for 11 runs in the sixth inning as the Red Eddies soared to a 19-6 victory over Erskine Academy in KVAC softball action Friday.

Sarah Hammond and Danielle Rock collected a single and a double for an RBI each in a five-run fourth inning for the Red Eddies (3-4).

Eagles’ (3-4) pitcher Alyssa Gartley struck out six, and went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs, despite suffering the loss.

Nokomis 5, Leavitt 4

NEWPORT — An errant throw plated Lacey Kent-Webber for the game-winning run as Nokomis picked up a 5-4 victory over Leavitt in KVAC softball action Friday.

The Hornets (1-6) were attempting to throw the tying run out at home on Kent-Webber’s single.

But, the tipped throw went all the way to the fence and left the field of play as Kent-Webber was standing at second.

She was awarded home plate to put the Warriors (4-3) up 5-4, and a lack of scoring over the remaining innings defined the outcome.

Sierra Santomango had a pair of singles and Livie Gilbert cracked a double for Leavitt in the losing effort.
