INDUSTRY — Dana H. Hoyt, 87, of Farmington, died Monday May 6, in Industry, of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 1, 1925, in Springfield, Mass., a son of John and Helen (Dana) Hoyt. He received his bachelor degree in education from Farmington State Teacher’s College and was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.

On June 17, 1950, he married Beryl Pitcher of Corinna. She died on Jan. 5, 2008. For many years, Mr. Hoyt was a systems engineer for Digital Corporation.

Until these last few years, he enjoyed bowling and golfing. He was a devoted husband, becoming a primary caregiver for many years for his wife, Beryl.

He is survived by their two daughters, Nichola Dana Taylor of Warren and Candace Hoyt White of Rockport, Mass.; six siblings, Walter Hoyt and his wife, Millie, of Eliot, Marjorie Savage of West Farmington, William Hoyt a resident of the Edgewood Rehabilitation and Living Center, Farmington, Jack Hoyt and his wife, Sandra, of Temple, Myrtle Haney, a resident of Edgewood Rehabilitation and Living Center, Farmington and Eva Say and her husband, Ronald, of Hebron, Conn.; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Matthew Page, Samantha Page, Patterson White and his daughter, Abigail White; and a special friend, Kay Tracy of Industry.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by three siblings, Hazel Barker, Louise Nicholas and Lila Kane.
