1993 – 2013

LEWISTON — Catherine A. Bauer, 19, of Auburn, died Saturday, May 11, with her loving family at her side, at Central Maine Medical Center, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born in Boston, Mass., on July 10, 1993, a daughter of John and Gina (Pallozzi) Bauer. Catherine was educated in local schools and graduated from Edward Little High Scholl, Class of 2011. She attended Central Maine Community College and was a sophomore at the University of Southern Maine, where she was majoring in biology. Catherine’s goal was to study veterinarian science for large animals.

Catherine had a passion for horses; she was an avid English saddle rider and an accomplished equestrian competitor. When she was younger, she was in 4-H, where she learned to care for horses. She had been in love with them ever since. She was very bright and was always one of the top students in her class. Catherine had a huge heart and loved animals; she was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. She also enjoyed skiing and spending time with her family.

She leaves her father, John Bauer of Auburn; mother, Gina Bauer-Johnson and her husband, Mark, of Poland; a brother, Eric Bauer of Auburn; a stepsister, Cassandra Johnson of Cape Elizabeth; her maternal grandfather, Anthony Pallozzi of Portland; her paternal grandfather, Sonny Stinson of Deer Isle; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who were very dear to her.
