NORWAY — The Norway Arts Festival, sponsored by Norway Downtown and Western Maine Art Group, has announced that prize money is available for artists participating in the 2013 Sidewalk Art Festival.

The 46th annual Sidewalk Art Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, on Main Street.

Cash awards are made in this juried art show for Best of Show and in the categories of painting, photography and artisans, including fiber arts, woodwork and jewelry.

The Best of Show award of $1,000 is sponsored this year by the Oxford Casino and Suzanne and Rupert Grover. In addition to the Best of Show prize, Edward Jones Investments has donated $250 toward prizes and Village Square Realty has donated $250 toward the painting category prizes.

Ripley and Fletcher Ford has donated a year’s maintenance contract, $250 toward a complete car overhaul and $75 cash toward a prize. U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, has promised to donate a flag which will be flown in Augusta. Prizes this year come in a variety of creative forms, and organizers of the Norway Arts Festival said they are pleased and grateful for all of the support.
